Every sound monotone. Every color, monochrome.

The sky was as hazy as the color of your eyes when I saw the soft concoction of your hair being blown by the wind. You were a possible subject. A possible subject for my dreams and for my four-sided frame.

People pass us by and they never gave us a damn. Do they know how lovely you are? Do they know I could not care less than watching those hair of yours following the soft breeze? They never saw your eyes as you watch their blur pass you by. You were beautiful. And from that moment on, I would pitifully wait for your eyes draw into me.I did not hear a single word nor a sound from the passers by.

But seeing you is like being suffocated in a cosmic melancholy only I could hear. I would be forever waiting in this world as you continue not to care.

Seems like only yesterday
Life belonged to runaways
Nothing here to see, no looking back
Every sound monotone
Every color monochrome
Life began to fade into the black

Picket Kids

"Nasaan ang bata?
Nasa lansangan!
Anong ginagawa?
Lumalaban!"

Children from as young as seven years old joined the Child Affected by armed Conflict march from Loreto Church in Bustillos to Mendiola with plackards on a picketline. Their shout" Education for the poor and not bullets for militarization.

Different facets of life were shown. there is a youth from Muntinlupa fighting his right for his family's place to live. A 10 year old kid from Brgy. Batasan, Quezon City though consumed by stage fright tried to let the people hear her voice but to no avail. Hers was the same-a place to live and education for her and the rest of the people in the mob.

The event was participated by partylist representatives and members from organizations like Gabriela, Salinlahi, and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas.

It is hard to imagine that even the youngest citizens of the country should rally to let the government hear their angst. They should be in school studying and not in lines under the heat of the sun listening to issues they barely comprehend. Political issues like Charter Change, their human rights for branding them as "Child Sodiers" and housing and education problems were discussed.

Their weak physique is no match againts the government weapons. But with pickets at hand and their small cry for injustice is their only ammo. let us hope that their meek voice can be heard and this small mobilization from Bustillos to Mendiola paved the way and be heard.

"Sagot sa karahasan ni Gloria sa bata?
i-knock-out si Gloria!"
